Our u-12’s began their City League campaign at home against Passage on what was a beautiful sunny evening. the 7th April 2017. Unfortunately, in a game that was very close and despite a spirited performance & great hurling from all our boys, Passage edged out one point winners at the final whistle.
Sam Frisby put Piltown on the scoreboard with a point in the third minute from a pass from Andrew Phelan and Passage followed-up with a goal and a point from a converted free before Sam scored two more points. Goalie Adam Byrne pulled off some fantastic saves before Eoin Reid sent in a ball to Adam Walsh who scored a great goal in the 13th minute and Passage closed out the first half, scoring 1-2. HT score: Piltown 1-3 Passage 2-3.
The second half got off to a great start with three goals in three minutes, the first from Niall O’Brien, quickly followed by a goal from Passage and then a second goal from Niall. Passage added another point before Niall O’Brien added a third goal to his tally for the evening. Passage added another 1-2 and two Piltown points, from Shane Cronin and Adam Walsh, brought us to within a point of Passage but unfortunately the boys ran out of time and Passage finished one point up. FT score Piltown 4-5 Passage 4-6.
