Our u-14 footballers travelled to Graignamanagh on the 29th March 2017 for the semi-final of the Duggan Steel u-14 Roinn B Football League.

It was a close encounter from throw-in to the final whistle & the lads put in a brave performance in miserable weather conditions. There was nothing between the teams in the first half and Darragh Dowd opened Piltown’s scoring with a goal in the 12th minute. Braedon Wheeler added three points to the scoreline in the last 10 minutes of the half, two from converted frees. HT score Piltown: 1-3 Graignamanagh 1-2.

Piltown dominated the first 10 minutes of the second half with Tyler Dunphy adding a point in the 34th minute and not 30 seconds later, Gavin Flynn scored Piltown’s second goal of the evening. Braedon Wheeler scored another point in the 39th minute to bring his tally to four on the night, which was followed shortly after with a point from Gavin Flynn. Graignamanagh then turned up the heat and fought back from a six-point deficit to level the game. FT score Piltown 2-6 Graignamanagh 2-6.
