Our U-14 footballers travelled to Danesfort on the 14th April 2017 for their Duggan Steel u-14 Roinn B Football Championship quarterfinal encounter with Danesfort. The lads put in a great team display and their reward is a spot in the semi final.
Fiachra Twohig opened Piltown’s scoring with a goal in the second minute and he followed that up with a great point. Braedon Wheeler added two points to the Piltown scoreline, one from a converted free. Darragh Dowd & Braedon added two more great points before Danesfort recorded their first score of the evening in the 18th minute. Danesfort scored two more points and Tom Reid closed out the first half with Piltown’s second goal of the match. HT score: Piltown 2-5 Danesfort 0-3.
Danesfort started the second half strong, scoring two goals in quick succession. However, Piltown then went on the attack & Conor Hogan raised the green flag in the 38th minute. Danesfort weren’t giving up and replied with another goal, followed by a point in the 42nd minute. Piltown dominated the next 10 minutes and Conor Hogan added another goal and a great point to his tally & Braedon Wheeler scored two lovely points. The last score of the match came from a Danesfort goal in injury time. FT score: Piltown 4-8 Danesfort 4-4.
